Unit 5
Many Dems unhappy with decision on FAA
Link:http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/26/politics/faa-democrats/index.html?iref=allsearch

Democrats wanted the  Republicans to replace forced spending cuts with a mix of tax and spending cuts. Democrats are now the one who have fallen from public pressure to keep a concept that the $85 billion that reduced spending.  They are trying to save the cut of the Federal Aviation Administration. The Democrats and Republican came to an accordance. They would pass a bill for the Transportation Secretary to move money and reserve air traffic controller which led to many flight delays.

Many however are outrage by the irresponsible policy because many are being outcast ed and not being helped. They are forgetting about serious problems and working on others that do not really need attention. Those losing jobs and head start programs are not being helped but traffic controllers are getting attention. Yes we do need transportation,  however  we need to educate the future generation for us to create job that will lead to our transportation.

There are many obstacles that those who want Same Sex Marriage. Even after the supreme court would agree on it they would still face troubles. Those who are married to the same sex would be affected by where they live and work would still affect  their access to health insurance. The Supreme Court is still deciding whether the Defense of Marriage Act is constitutional.  Many are still weighing the pros and cons of the act and if it is possible to pass in states. The issue that same-sex couples would have, is that they would have health care coverage problems. Many believe that if same-sex couples live and work in the same district that they should not have problems with their health insurance. In 2012, over half of employers with 10 or more workers offered same-sex health insurance benefits, according to human resources consultant Mercer.
The fact that many believe that this is a way to shoot down DOMA is unbelievable. Those who are in a same sex relationship have the same right as everybody else. If many employers are offering same-sex health insurance benefits they why can't the government offer any type of benefit to same-sex couples.

With deal in hand, senators to roll out immigration plan

A "Gang of 8", which consist of senators are trying to make a deal on immigration reform. What the "gang of eight" are trying to do is come to an according. However, up to this point the negotiation has come to a halt with trying to decide on what to do with wages and visas for undocumented farm workers. Much of negotiation would deal with the wage levels, agricultural guest worker visas and protections for U. S. workers. Many argue that it would balance the farming needs of both the American farmers and immigrant farmers. The eight senators reached a conclusion on getting a path for citizenship that would affect up to about 11 million undocumented residents. The path to citizenship would take about 13 years for an immigrant to reach. The years would be divided into ten years for a green card and the three years to gain citizenship. However undocumented workers would have to pay a fine and back taxes, and pass a background check. This in hand will create a system for the border patrol system. No undocumented worker would be eligible for citizenship until the border is considered secure.
However, when do they know when it is truly secure? It will take long for it to be truly secure with not only people coming in but also the war of drugs between the U.S and Mexico. On the other hand it would be of great work if the "gang of 8" would pass the reform.
